Affiliates, if you haven’t checked out some of the tutorials on the tools offered through AvantLink check them out when you get the chance. You may already have a handle on the tools offered but there is some great information in these tutorials and reviewing them might just stoke your interest on a new project or get you thinking of methods of promotion you may have forgotten or want to finally pursue.
We will be rolling out some new creative for March but in the meantime The-House has updated a couple of banners in the interface on ongoing promotions.

There’s only one thing on the minds of gear junkies during the month of February and that’s the Semi Annual Sale at Backcountry.com and Dogfunk.com. Well junkies wait no longer it’s arrived and boasts to big our biggest sale EVER.
From 2/13 to 3/2 close to 90% of the entire BC and DF site(s) will be on sale with discounts at high as 70% off. Top selling categories like Women’s Fleece Jackets will feature items from Mountain Hardwear, Arc’teryx, Patagonia and The North Face at up to 40% off. Goggles from Oakley, Anon, Dragon and Electric to name a few are discounted up to 70% off. That’s just a teaser of the sick deals customers will find, check it out for yourself.
How do I promote the Semi Annual Sale? Here are some helpful tips on how to make this SAS work for you.
1. On 2/13 grab SAS creative like banners and text links from the Avantlink interface and add them to high traffic areas of your site, like the homepage.
2. If you have an email list create a dedicated newsletter/email blast notifying your members of the killer sale at Backcountry.com and Dogfunk.com. Make sure to include product to product links with some of the best deals from the sale.
3. If you have a forum or blog, write a post/entry about the sale targeting specific items, brands or categories that resonate with your users.
4. If you’re using our datafeed for a store make sure to refresh it throughout the sale, we’ll include new items and discounts over the 2 week period.
5. Do you have a shopping comparison site with a buy box? Adding Backcountry or Dogfunk to #1 slot will increase the conversion rate. Even if the customer doesn’t buy that specific product your sending them to a site that has over 15K products on sale.
6. SEM guru? Increase spending on your accounts to ensure ads show on the first page. Send us the traffic and we’ll take care of the rest.

As of February 1st, each One Deal at a Time site (SteepandCheap.com, WhiskeyMilitia.com, Tramdock.com, Chainlove.com and BonkTown.com) will pay out a $5 new customer bounty, for all new customer referred sales. In the past, these bounties were only paid to new customers to the family of One Deal at a Time sites. In other words, affiliates now have a chance to earn $5, 5 times per customer, instead of just once.
The sticky nature of One Deal at a Time sites are best leveraged through real-time banners found in the deal of the day tools provided by Avantlink. These banners support the dynamically updating content of the current deal – in effect giving the affiliate the opportunity to promote the current sale item on their site.
One Deal at a Time sites, in conjunction with catalog sites, are great tools to promote niches in the outdoor industry. For instance, promoting SteepandCheap.com and Backcountry.com in tandem would be great opportunity for the niche camping/hiking site, or WhiskeyMilitia.com and Dogfunk.com would excel on an action sports affiliate site.
