I have been intently watching a thread in the Midnight Cafe category of AbestWeb.com today: What Makes a Good Affiliate Network?
There is a new ABW member who chimed in on that thread (BG4512) and posted:
“Get rid of hucksters selling out of the box affiliate sites to John Q. Idaho as work-at-home & get rich quick schemes and watch the affilaite support improve by leaps and bounds.”
We agree with this statement and feel it’s important that Affiliates and merchants both get VIP treatment. A long these lines, I thought now would be a good chance to highlight our quality over quantity focus. As some know already, we have not opened up the flood gates to anyone. We’ve decided to not work work with CPA networks, lead generation arrangements, and merchants with limited platforms or products that do not convert. This is an effort to stay focused on our strengths.
We’re selective with both Affiliates (they must demonstrate some degree of technical knowledge and/or Internet marketing experience) and merchants (high-converting catalog-based merchants dedicated to Affiliate marketing). Our belief is if we maintain this focus on quality, we’ll be able to fully support everyone, remain responsive in this quickly changing industry, and stay committed to getting Affiliates exactly what they need in order to expand their businesses and succeed.
I would love some thoughts and opinions on our network philosophy. Feel free to comment here.

Amen! That’s why I’m working with Avant, as you already know Gary. We also have a program with CJ, and digging through all those canned “get rick quick” template sites gets very old. Avant, on the other hand, has only sent quality sites my way.
Keep up the good work.

Gary…have you been talking to my husband lately? That’s his big pet peeve in life at the moment. He’s a small contractor dealing in a world of “Just get it done, no matter how or the quality in which it’s done” and it is driving him crazy. The quality of a job has always been first with him and that’s what customers have always gotten and will continue to get. Does get frustrating though when others don’t have that same philosophy and only make his job tougher and more time consuming because of things not being done or made correctly. To a lot of people quality doesn’t seem to matter the way it should and a much more frustrating world is the result of that attitude I think.
Please, please, please don’t ever change your network philosophy:) I absolutely love working with AvantLink and definitely think your philosophy shows in every aspect of your company. Every single instance and every person I have had any correspondence with in your company has shown that they share that philosophy. I have always been treated very nice and probably more importantly with a lot of respect. That’s rare these days. Yea….”big guys” get the respect but not always the “little guys”. Not all but most networks are more concerned with “quantity over quality” and don’t care how that’s achieved. You definitely can have both but if faced with the choice of having only one…..quality should come first and it matters. I definitely like your business approach and appreciate it very much

Mark and Kathy. Thanks for your great comments and all your support! We don’t plan to sell out
Grow, yes…but change that philosophy of quality over quantity, no.
