Dynamic Datafeed Manager Users Tip

Periodically I’ll randomly pop in and remind the blog audience about some of the tools and features we provide free with network acceptance in our Affiliate tool center.

For those using the web service datafeed client be sure to select ‘Show Advanced Options’ in the configuration intereface. This will bring up more selections including the use of the rel=”nofollow” attribute for links and networkwork-configured internal redirects on all your outbound ‘buy now’ links. Other advanced config options include the ability to accept and publish product reviews, change outbound link text or use the Q tags to ‘cite’ the source of the content.

Its easy for affiliates to take your product feeds and make them look like contextual ads. Just use the short descriptions with no product image. You might have to CSS them but you can make a lot more money with an affiliate contextual ad than from CPC for the old standards.

Hey Chuck, Thanks for the comment. I think you’re confused between the Datafeed Manager (more specifically this post is about the web service datafeed client that’s part of the Datafeed Manager v3.0) and the Product Display Builder.

Although the Product Display Builder can look like it’s displaying contextual ads when displayed through the RSS or JavaScript versions without the thumbs…it’s actually not.

When using RSS (we always push folks to use RSS) it is however serving dynamic and *spiderable* web content…so this will help your Affiliates win good search engine placement around product or product group specific searches. This will be their best converting traffic.
